Gunmen abduct several residents in another attack on Kaduna community

Several residents have been abducted by armed men who invaded Kuyan Bana Village in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Eyewitnesses said the attack occurred on Thursday night at about 11:50 p.m. when the gunmen, armed with rifles, stormed the community and began shooting sporadically, causing panic among villagers.
The attackers reportedly moved from house to house, abducting yet-to-be-ascertained number of residents before fleeing to an unknown destination.
Troops later mobilised to the area, cordoning off the surrounding forests and launching a search-and-rescue operation.
Sources said efforts were ongoing to secure the release of the abducted persons and restore calm to the area.
