Several residents have been abducted by gunmen who carried out coordinated attacks on multiple villages in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Zagazola learnt that the  attackers, armed with sophisticated weapons, were said to have ambushed residents returning from their farms near Agwallan Centre, Janwuriya, and Afogo villages on Thursday evening, whisking away an unspecified number of people.

Hours later, another group of gunmen reportedly invaded Kallah and Aokpeshura villages in the same local government, firing sporadically and abducting more residents, including women and children.

During the raid on Kallah village, 29-year-old Simon Audi, 23-year-old Beuty Audu, and six-month-old Holliness Simon were among those taken away by the assailants.

Community sources confirmed that a man identified as Enoch Simon, aged 40, was later rescued, while two others, 32-year-old Anthony Saidu and 20-year-old Jenecy Obasanjo, sustained injuries and were taken to a hospital in Kujama for treatment.

Preliminary findings from local security sources indicate that the attacks may have been coordinated by a repentant bandit, identified as Babban Gayya, allegedly seeking revenge over the killing of some of his men by military operatives.

Search and rescue efforts are ongoing by troops to locate the remaining victims and ensure their safe return.
