Gunmen kill one, kidnap 10 in Bauchi village attack

At least one person has been killed, another injured, and ten others abducted following an early morning attack by armed men on Dogon Ruwa village in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

 

The incident, which occurred at about 3:25 a.m. on Saturday, sent shockwaves through the quiet rural community as about 30 gunmen stormed the area, looting valuables, shooting sporadically, and abducting residents before fleeing into nearby forested terrain.

 

Two villagers, identified as Sallau Mun, 67, and Alhaji Gambo, 40, sustained gunshot wounds during the raid. They were immediately rushed to the General Hospital in Duguri for medical attention. Sallau Mun was later confirmed dead, while Alhaji Gambo is currently receiving treatment.

 

In response to the attack, joint security teams, including Army, Police , vigilantes, and local hunters, have been deployed to the area to launch a search-and-rescue operation aimed at freeing the abducted victims and restoring peace in the community.
