IGP Hosts French, UK Delegates, Strengthens Policing Partnerships
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has engaged in high-level meetings with delegations from France and the United Kingdom to enhance policing strategies and security operations in Nigeria.
The meetings, held at the IGP Smart Conference Hall, Force Headquarters, Abuja, focused on international collaboration, capacity building, and technology-driven policing.
The French delegation, led by the Director of Defence and Security Cooperation, Lieutenant General Régis Colcombet, included Colonel Olivier Ductet, Lieutenant Colonel Pierre Yves Dupé, and Commandant Philippe Crespo, alongside officials from the French Embassy. Discussions centred on cybercrime investigation, anti-terrorism efforts, knowledge sharing, training, and advanced policing equipment.
In a separate session, the IGP, represented by the AIG Department of Operations, AIG Taiwo Adeleke, welcomed the UK-Nigeria Cyber Security Delegation, which included the Country Director of the Department of Business and Training at the British High Commission, Mr. Mark Smith; CEO of Espranaro Limited, Dan Edmund; and Deputy Director at the British High Commission, Morayo Adekunle. The discussions focused on strengthening cybersecurity cooperation, raising awareness of emerging threats, and reinforcing best practices.
The engagements reaffirm Nigeria’s commitment to leveraging global partnerships in tackling security challenges. The Nigeria Police Force assured continued collaboration with international stakeholders to enhance safety and protect citizens.
