ISWAP kidnapped three humanitarian workers, killed 3 Civilian JTF in Monguno
Three Civilian Joint Task Force were feared killed on Friday when suspected members of the Islamic State of the West African Province(ISWAP), attacked humanitarian workers in the North East of Borno State.
Three others humanitarian workers were also reportedly kidnapped by the insurgents.
An Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert in the Lake Chad and Security Analysts that the insurgents carried out the attack Monguno Local Government Area in the night of Friday at about 9pm.
Zagazola understand that the attackers who stormed the town through the axis of Marte came in through the Gana Ari community in Monguno then went straight to a compound of humanitarian workers and began shooting sporadically.
The sources said that they attempted to steal three vehicles, but could not take them out of the compound . They later abducted three workers and left the compound.
It was gathered the attacked humanitarian workers are employees of Damuli Investment Limited and began shooting sporadically.
The credible sources said the insurgents proceeded to a compound of the State Emergency Management Agency(SEMA), and took one hilux vehicle before proceeding to attack and killed three members of Civilian Joint Task Force and burnt their vehicle. One other member was shot on his leg.
