Nigerian Military Kills 7 Bandits, Set Ablaze 2 Motorcycles in Zamfara

Military troops of Operation Hadarin Daji in Zamfara State have eliminated seven armed bandits.

They also recovered some ammunition, and set ablaze two motorcycles of the terrorists.

PRNigeria gathered from a credible military source that three of the bandits were killed on Monday, in a clearance operation at Shinkafi local government area of the State.

The other four, however met their waterloo on Tuesday, when troops conducted an offensive operation at Bukkuyum local government area in the State.

A defence source, in a phone chat with PRNigeria, said that troops of the Joint Task Force North West (JTF NW), Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD), had conducted operations and cleared Galadi, Basamna and Kayaye villages of Shinkafi LGA of Zamfara State, on Monday.

“Similarly on June 6 2023, based on credible intelligence on bandits movements along Kumbo village at Bukkuyum LGA of Zamfara State, troops of OPHD deployed at Foward Operating Base  Anka, swiftly mobilized and conducted an offensive operation at bandits routes in Kumbo Village.

“Contact was made, and after the encounter, four bandits were neutralized. The troops also recovered AK 47 rifles, magazines, and motorcycles, among others.

“The gallant troops morale and fighting efficiency remains satisfactory as the operation continues,” he said.

Meanwhile in a statement by Director Defence Media Operations, Major General Musa Danmadami said troops on June 6, 2023 conducted ambush operations to bandits hideout at KUMBO village in BUKKUYUM Local Government Area of Zamfara.

“During an encounter, troops made contact with bandits and a fierce fire fight ensued during which Troops neutralized (4) four terrorists and recovered four (4) AK 47 rifles, two (2) AK 47 rifle magazines, twenty six (26) rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunitions, and four (4) motorcycles amongst other sundry items.

“The military high command commends troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI and encourages the general public to avail troops with credible and timely information on terrorist and all criminal activities within their area,” it concluded.
