Ogun Police Arrest Three Suspects, Recover Criminal Charms During Sign-Out Ceremony Clash

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested three suspected hoodlums for alleged conduct likely to cause breach of peace and unlawful possession of suspected criminal charms during a student sign-out event at Crawford University, Lusada, Igbesa.

According to sources, the incident occurred on 19 June 2026 at about 1945hrs, following a distress call received from the Chief Security Officer of the university, Oke Olajide.

The school management  reported that internal security personnel alerted them to a violent altercation at the venue of a final-year sign-out celebration within the campus. He subsequently informed the police.

Acting on the report, a team of detectives led by ASP Benjamin Peter of the Ketu Adie Owe Police Post swiftly moved to the scene, where three suspects were arrested. They were identified as Toyyeeb Dauda, 22; Oscar Peter, 21; and Tajudeen Bakare, 21.

The Command said preliminary findings indicated that the suspects are not students of the institution but residents of Ota. It further noted that they were allegedly invited to the campus by an unidentified final-year student known only as “Trigger.”

A search conducted on the suspects reportedly led to the recovery of various suspected criminal charms.

The Command said the suspects are in custody for interrogation, while investigation is ongoing to apprehend other persons involved and determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
