One killed, one injured in bandit attack in Apa LGA in Benue

One person has been killed and another injured following an attack by suspected armed bandits in Apa Local Government Area of Benue State.
Sources said that the incident occurred on Jan. 24 at about 4:00 p.m. along the Amoke–Odugbo road in Ukpogo Village, Edikwu Ward.
The source said the victims, identified as Mr Joseph Okoh and Miss Aneh Sunday, both of Ogodumo, Adoka in Otukpo LGA, were riding on a motorcycle when they were ambushed by the attackers.
“They were rushed to the Comprehensive Health Centre, Ugbokpo, where Mr Okoh was confirmed dead while receiving treatment. Miss Sunday is currently admitted and responding to treatment,” the source said.
The Nigerian troops were swiftly mobilized to the scene and a search of nearby bushes was ongoing to track down the assailants.
“The Criminal Investigation Department has commenced investigation into the incident,” the source said.
