Security sources said the incident was reported at about 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026, prompting troops of Sector 6, OPEP, to respond to the location.
The sources identified the affected farmers as Mr Mwadkwom Davou and Mr Ezra Dachung, whose millet farms were allegedly destroyed by the grazing cattle.
According to the sources, the troops arrived at the scene and intercepted 23 cattle abandoned by their herders, who reportedly fled upon sighting the security personnel.
The livestock were subsequently moved to a safe location, while Fulani community leaders were contacted to assist in identifying their owners for further action.
