Three Community Watch Members Killed in Bandit Attack in Katsina

Three members of a community watch group in Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State have been killed by suspected armed bandits during a patrol operation.

 

Zagazola Makama gathered that the incident occurred on Wednesday at about 1230hrs while the victims were on routine patrol near Karo village, behind the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) permanent site.

 

The victims, identified as Bashir Abdussalam, 40; Halluru Bishir, 43; and Sani Bala, 49; all from Makera village in Dutsinma LGA, were said to have sustained gunshot wounds during the ambush.

 

They were rushed to the General Hospital Dutsinma, where medical personnel later confirmed them dead.

 

Community watch groups have continued to assist formal security agencies in providing local intelligence and helping to secure rural communities across the state.
