Three cows belonging to a herder, Alhaji Ibrahim Ciroma, have died in a suspected poisoning by Berom militia in Lafando village, Kwi District, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Another cow was found inside a mining well during the incident, which was reported to troops of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026.
Security sources said troops of Sector 4, OPEP, responded to the report at about 1:45 p.m. and proceeded to the location to assess the situation.
Upon arrival, the troops discovered that three cattle had died after reportedly grazing on a substance suspected to be poisonous, while another cow was found inside a mining well.
