Troops arrest five suspected criminals in Abuja, including kingpins in FCT

Troops of 7 Guards Battalion have arrested five suspected criminals in Kunchigoro settlement within the Games Village general area of the Abuja Municipal Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Security sources said the operation took place at about 5:00 a.m. on April 7 following credible intelligence on the presence of armed criminals in the area.
According to the sources, the troops stormed the location and apprehended five suspects identified as alleged criminal kingpins.
During the operation, one suspect reportedly attempted to escape but was shot in the process.
The injured suspect was subsequently evacuated to a medical facility for treatment.
Security sources said the arrested suspects are currently in custody for further investigation and possible prosecution, while efforts are ongoing to ensure the area is cleared of criminal elements.
