Bandits abduct 2 Journalists' in Kaduna
The Kaduna State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has strongly condemned the abduction of two journalists and their families by suspected kidnappers in Danhono, Kaduna metropolis.
According to a statement signed by Chairman Asmau Yawo Halilu and Secretary Gambo Santos Sanga, the union is shocked and dismayed by the brazen attack on the correspondents of THE NATION and THE BLUE PRINT newspapers and their families.
The NUJ appealed to security agencies to rescue the journalists and their families from their captors and urged government to intensify efforts to guarantee the security of lives and property in the state.
The union expressed concern over the resurgence of kidnapping in Kaduna and environs, stressing that it must be checked to prevent a repeat of past experiences.
The NUJ also advised practicing journalists in the state to be vigilant in their daily activities and prayed for the safe return of their abducted colleagues and families.
