Troops Arrest Suspected Deserting Soldier in Ebonyi State

Troops of Sector 2 under Operation UDO KA have arrested a suspected military deserter in Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Security sources said the suspect was apprehended at about 11:30 a.m. on May 14 at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Ivo following an alert from the Divisional Police Officer of Ishiagu Division.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly absconded from the 101 Special Forces Battalion in Kukawa, Borno State.
The suspect is currently in custody of troops for further investigation and disciplinary procedures, while security agencies continue efforts to verify circumstances surrounding his alleged desertion.
