Troops Arrest Suspected IPOB/ESN Member in Abia

Troops of 14 Brigade have arrested a suspected member of the proscribed IPOB/ESN during a joint operation in Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State.
Security sources said the suspect was apprehended at about 4:20 a.m. on April 30 at Obinto village in Ihiechiowa area following coordinated tracking by troops, supported by intelligence operatives.
The sources disclosed that items recovered from the suspect include currencies believed to be linked to the activities of the group.
According to the sources, the suspect and the recovered items are currently in military custody for further investigation and necessary action.
They added that security operations have been intensified across the area to dismantle criminal networks and enhance stability.
