Troops Arrest Suspected ISWAP Logistics Supplier in Borno

Troops of 19 Battalion, 25 Brigade, in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have arrested a suspected logistics supplier to ISWAP terrorists in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.
Military sources disclosed that the suspect was apprehended at about 5:04 p.m. on June 7 during an intelligence-led operation conducted within the Damboa axis.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly supplied logistics and other support items to terrorist elements operating within the local government area.
According to security sources, the suspect confessed to providing logistical assistance to the terrorists during interrogation.
Items recovered from the suspect include 86 mosquito nets, one bicycle, a transistor radio, a mobile phone and the sum of N9,200, among other sundry materials.
The recovered items are believed to have been intended for use by terrorist elements operating in the area.
The suspect is currently in military custody and is undergoing further investigation to identify other members of the logistics network and possible collaborators.
The arrest forms part of ongoing efforts by security forces to disrupt terrorist supply chains and dismantle support networks sustaining insurgent activities across the North-East.
Military authorities have reiterated the importance of intelligence gathering and community cooperation in denying terrorists access to logistics, supplies and other forms of support essential to their operations.
