Troops of the 1 Brigade Counter-Terrorism Force have arrested two suspected logistics suppliers accused of providing medical support to armed terrorist groups operating in parts of Zamfara State.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the arrests were made at about 6:00 p.m. on June 27 during an intelligence-led operation conducted in Magami, Gusau Local Government Area.

According to the sources, the operation followed credible intelligence linking the suspects to a network responsible for supplying medicines and emergency healthcare materials to armed terrorists operating around Langa Village in Bungudu Local Government Area.

One of the suspects is believed to have served as a medical supplier who allegedly provided treatment and emergency healthcare services to wounded terrorists, while the second suspect allegedly concealed and stored the medical supplies in his shop for onward delivery to the criminal group.

The two suspects were apprehended without incident during the operation and are currently undergoing preliminary interrogation by security operatives to determine the full extent of their involvement and identify other members of the logistics network.

Military sources said the arrests form part of ongoing intelligence-driven efforts to dismantle the supply chains that sustain terrorist operations in Zamfara and the wider North-West region.

The sources added that security agencies are expanding investigations based on information obtained from the suspects, with further operations expected against individuals suspected of facilitating medical, logistical and financial support for armed groups operating in the state.
