Troops Destroy Terrorist Camp, Recover Pistol, Ammunition in Anambra

Troops of Operation UDO KA have destroyed a suspected terrorist camp and recovered a pistol, ammunition and a handheld radio during a fighting patrol in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The operation was conducted at about 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 18, when troops of 185 Battalion carried out a fighting patrol to a suspected terrorist camp in the Eketutu general area of Ihiala LGA.

Zagazola Makama, learnt that the troops encountered no resistance during the operation.

The troops subsequently exploited the camp and recovered one pistol, one round of 9mm ammunition and one handheld radio.

The suspected camp was thereafter destroyed in situ to prevent its further use by criminal elements.

The operation forms part of sustained efforts by Operation UDO KA troops to dismantle criminal and terrorist hideouts and deny armed groups freedom of movement and safe havens across the South-East.
