Troops Foil Kidnap Attempt, Rescue Four Victims in Plateau

Troops of Sector 4, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have foiled a kidnap attempt and rescued four abducted victims in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources said the troops, deployed at Gashish, responded at about 8:30 p.m. on July 2 to reports of suspected kidnappers operating along the Kurra–Exland Road in the Razat Forest area of Barkin Ladi LGA.
The sources said the troops swiftly mobilised to the scene, forcing the suspected kidnappers to abandon their mission and flee into the surrounding rocky terrain.
According to the sources, four kidnapped victims were rescued unharmed during the operation.
The sources added that troops had intensified efforts to track down the fleeing suspects and sustain operations aimed at curbing kidnapping and other criminal activities in the area.
