Troops of Sector 3, Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), have intercepted 22 cows and six sheep allegedly involved in the destruction of a farmer’s crops at Jebbu Miango in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The troops responded at about 2:45 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, following a report of the destruction of a farm belonging to a resident identified as Mr Kefas.
Upon arrival at the location, the troops found the livestock grazing on the farmland without any herder in sight.
The 22 cows and six sheep were subsequently moved to a safe location for necessary action, while efforts are expected to determine their ownership and establish the circumstances surrounding the reported farm destruction.
Security forces are maintaining surveillance in the area to prevent further incidents and preserve peace between farming and herding communities.
