Troops of 17 Brigade, Nigerian Army, have intercepted four suspected brand-new motorcycles during a snap check along the Danmusa-Mara-Kaiga road in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The motorcycles were intercepted at about 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 18 by troops deployed at Forward Operating Base Mara during a routine security check along the road.

According to sources Zagazola Makama, the riders were stopped and requested to produce the original documents of the motorcycles.

The riders reportedly left the location to retrieve the documents but had not returned as of the time of filing the report.

The four motorcycles have been taken into the custody of the troops for further investigation and necessary action.

Security sources said the interception formed part of ongoing efforts to check the movement of suspected criminal elements and prevent the use of unverified motorcycles in bandit operations across vulnerable areas of Katsina State.
