Troops, NDLEA Arrest Six Suspected Drug Peddlers in Katsina

Troops of the 17 Brigade, in collaboration with operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), have arrested six suspected drug peddlers during a joint raid in Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Security sources told Zagazola that the operation was conducted at about 1:00 p.m. on June 24 at Rugoji Village.
The sources said the joint team apprehended six suspects and recovered 4.0 grams of a substance suspected to be cannabis sativa as well as 3.5 grams of tramadol.
According to the sources, the suspects are believed to be suppliers of hard drugs and other illicit substances to terrorists and criminal elements operating within Kafur and its surrounding communities.
The suspects and the recovered exhibits have been handed over to the NDLEA for further investigation and possible prosecution.
