Troops neutralise suspected Boko Haram spy in Yobe

Troops of the Nigerian Army operating under the Joint Task Force North-East, Operation Hadin Kai, have neutralised a suspected spy linked to Boko Haram in Kanama town of Yobe State.
Security sources said the incident occurred at about 9:55 p.m. on March 14 when troops of the 159 Battalion, in conjunction with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), were conducting an ambush operation within Kanama.
The sources disclosed that the suspect was apprehended during the operation after he was allegedly found spying on troop movements and activities in the town.
According to the sources, the suspect attempted to escape from custody shortly after his arrest but was neutralised by the troops.
