Troops of Sector 1 Operation Fansan Yamma have recovered 110 cattle and 20 sheep during an anti-cattle rustling operation in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Security sources said the operation was conducted at about 2:17 a.m. on April 6, 2026, following a distress call over cattle rustling by suspected terrorists in Sobawa community.

Troops of Sub-Sector 6, in collaboration with 4 Demonstration Battalion, reportedly deployed to the area and established an ambush at Katabu village, while coordinating with livestock owners at the ambush location.

The troops subsequently made contact with the suspected rustlers, forcing them to abandon the stolen livestock and flee the scene.

A total of 110 cattle and 20 sheep were recovered and later handed over to their rightful owners.

Authorities said patrols and surveillance operations have been intensified in the area to prevent further incidents of rustling and other criminal activities.
