Troops Recover Abandoned Mercedes Benz Vehicle in Plateau

Troops of Sector 6 of Operation Enduring Peace have recovered an abandoned Mercedes Benz vehicle during a snap checkpoint operation at Zawan Junction in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau.
Security sources disclosed that the incident occurred at about 8:00 p.m. on Monday while troops were conducting routine observation and security checks in the area.
According to the sources, the troops observed a dark blue Mercedes Benz vehicle parked suspiciously in the middle of the road at the junction.
“Upon approaching the vehicle, troops discovered that the car key had been left inside, but there was no occupant in the vehicle,” the sources said.
The sources further revealed that a plate number, LAG SMK 172 CD, was also found hidden beneath the driver’s seat.
The troops have commenced efforts to evacuate the vehicle to their location for further investigation and necessary action.
Security operatives are expected to conduct detailed checks to determine the ownership of the vehicle and circumstances surrounding its abandonment.
