Troops Repel Militia Attack in Plateau Community, Recover Body

Troops of Sector 3, Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), have repelled an attack by suspected militias on Ariri community in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Credible security sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 14, when troops responded to a distress report of a militia attack on the community.
The swift intervention of the troops forced the attackers to flee the area.
During a subsequent search of the community, the troops discovered the lifeless body of a man identified as Mr Maianguwa Ishe.
Another victim, identified as Mr Joseph Ezekiel, was found with gunshot wounds sustained during the attack.
The injured victim was immediately evacuated to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Meanwhile, troops have launched a manhunt for the fleeing assailants and are conducting aggressive fighting patrols within the general area to prevent further attacks and track the attackers.
