Troops rescue injured civilian, destroy suspected terrorist hideout in Zamfara

Troops of Counter Terrorism Unit 7 have rescued an injured civilian and destroyed a suspected terrorist hideout during operations in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Security sources said the troops, deployed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Danjibga, responded at about 11:00 a.m. to reports that suspected terrorists had shot a civilian who was fetching firewood between the outskirts of Danjibga and Kizara villages.
According to the sources, the troops swiftly moved to the scene, evacuated the injured victim for medical attention, and secured the area.
The sources added that the troops continued to dominate the general area to deter further attacks.
In a related development, at about 5:00 p.m. the same day, the troops, while on fighting patrol around Kagana village in Tsafe LGA, discovered and destroyed a suspected terrorist hideout.
Security operations have since been intensified in the area to track fleeing criminals and enhance the safety of residents.
