Troops Rescue Kidnapped Woman in Borno, Reunite Her With Family

Troops of 82 Division Task Force Battalion under Operation Hadin Kai have rescued a kidnapped civilian in Ngoshe community, Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.
Security sources told Zagazola that the victim was rescued at about 10:00 a.m. on April 28 during a routine perimeter patrol in the area.
The sources said the woman was found wandering around Ngoshe community and later identified herself as one of those abducted on March 3 by suspected ISWAP/JAS terrorists.
According to the sources, she explained that she escaped from captivity in the Mandara Mountains following sustained bombardments carried out by artillery and air platforms on April 27.
The sources added that the rescued victim was later handed over to her family at about 5:30 p.m. the same day through the Wali of Ngoshe community.
They said troops continue to conduct clearance and security operations in the general area to sustain pressure on terrorist elements.
