Vigilante killed in bandit attack on Keware village, Katsina

A Civilian Watch (Cwatch) vigilante has been killed during a bandit attack on Keware Village in Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Sources said the incident occurred at about 12:56 a.m. on Sunday, prompting the
joint troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA police, and Cwatch patrol teams to the area.
According to the sources , the security teams engaged the armed assailants in a sustained gunfight, forcing them to flee the village.
“The hoodlums fatally shot a Cwatch vigilante, Isiya Keware, aged 32, a native of the village. His body was taken to the General Hospital, Sabuwa, where a medical doctor certified him dead,” the sources said.
The sources added that efforts were ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators at large.
