Bandits abduct five in Zamfara border communities

Armed bandits have abducted five persons during a midnight attack on Katuru village in Galadi District of Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

 

Zagazola Makama gathered that the attack occurred in the early hours of Tuesday at about 2:10 a.m., when the gunmen stormed the village and whisked away the victims.

 

Eyewitnesses said the assailants also launched an attack on nearby Galadi town, firing sporadically to create panic before fleeing the area.

 

Security sources said a joint team of operatives stationed in Galadi responded swiftly and pursued the attackers into the bush.

 

Details of the incident, including identities of the abducted persons, were still being compiled as of the time of filing this report.
