Insurgents flee as troops repel attack in Mafa

The Nigerian troops of Operation Hadin Kai have successfully repelled a mid night attack on Mafa local government area in the North Eastern Borno State.

Numerous armed terrorist, many of whom were thought to be ISWAP members, made an attempt invade the town on motorcycles before launching a sustained firefight with the troops.

An Intelligence Sources told Zagazola Makama, A Security Analyst and Counter Insurgency Expert in the Lake Chad that the troops thwarted the terrorists’ incursion in a fierce gun battle.

Many of the terrorists escaped with bullets as traces of blood were seen at the scene of the attack.
