Gunmen Kill Three in Attack on Anti-Banditry Office in Jigawa

Suspected armed robbers have attacked the office of the Jigawa State Anti-Banditry, Anti-Kidnapping, and Robbery group in Ringim, killing three people, including two members of the group and a passerby.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the attack occurred on Wednesday night at CGC Junction, Dutse Road, Ringim.
He sources said that the hoodlums, numbering about ten, stormed the office in a black Toyota Sienna around 8:40 p.m. and opened fire.
“The assailants shot two members of the group, led by one Alhaji Yusuf Wakili (alias Rago), as well as a passerby. They also vandalized the Hilux patrol vehicle attached to the group by smashing all its windscreens,” he said.
The sources said that security personnel led by
the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) were deployed to the scene, but the attackers had already fled.
He said five empty shells of 7.62mm ammunition were recovered at the scene, while the victims were taken to Ringim General Hospital, where a doctor on duty confirmed them dead.
The deceased were identified as Shu’aibu Bulo, 30, and Manu Ya’u, 30, both from Majiyawa Village, Ringim Local Government Area, as well as Inusa Jibrin, 35, from Gaya Local Government Area of Kano State.
The corpses were later released to their families for burial according to Islamic rites.
