Military sources disclosed that the suspect, identified as Mohammed Hamadu, 18, was apprehended at about 4:00 p.m. on June 6 in Madagali town following credible intelligence on the activities of suspected terrorist informants operating within the area.

According to the sources, troops of the 144 Task Force Battalion (Mechanised) acted on intelligence reports indicating the presence of individuals allegedly providing support and information to terrorist elements.

The sources said the suspect was arrested during a market patrol conducted as part of ongoing efforts to identify and disrupt terrorist support networks within the battalion’s area of responsibility.
