Troops of the Headquarters 17 Brigade Quick Reaction Force (QRF), in collaboration with personnel of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Katsina State Command, have arrested suspected criminals and recovered a locally fabricated firearm during a joint raid in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation was conducted at about 1:00 a.m. on July 26 in Wagin, Tundu Mobi and Chadawaki communities following credible intelligence on criminal activities in the area.

The sources said the joint team raided identified hideouts, leading to the arrest of suspects and the recovery of several exhibits.

During the operation, troops also recovered one locally fabricated firearm and five cartridges from one of the suspects.

The arrested suspects and the recovered exhibits were subsequently handed over to the NDLEA Katsina State Command for further investigation and necessary action.

Military sources described the operation as hitch-free, adding that the raid forms part of ongoing joint efforts by security agencies to dismantle criminal networks and improve security across Katsina State.
