Troops Neutralise Suspected Terrorist Kinglin, Recover Weapons in Katsina

Troops deployed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Matazu, in collaboration with the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC), have neutralised a suspected terrorist kingpin during a patrol operation in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Military sources said the incident occurred at about 9:40 a.m. on May 27 along the Sayaya road.
According to the sources, the troops encountered the suspected terrorist who was riding on a motorcycle during the patrol.
The sources disclosed that the suspect was neutralised during the engagement and was later identified by local residents as a foot soldier loyal to a notorious terrorist kingpin known as Muhammadu Fulani.
Items recovered from the suspect included one AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 magazine, 17 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and a motorcycle.
The sources added that the operation formed part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and enhance security across the state.
