Troops of Sector 6, Operation ENDURING PEACE, have arrested a suspected herder following a report of farmland destruction at Jahill, Ganawuri, in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The troops, deployed in the Ganawuri general area, responded at about 0600 hours on Aug. 27 to a report that farmlands in the community had been destroyed by suspected Fulani herders.

Upon arrival at the location, the troops found cattle grazing in the area and arrested one of the herders identified as Yunusa Adamu, 22.

The suspect is currently in military custody for further investigation and appropriate action.

The operation is part of ongoing efforts by security forces to prevent clashes between farming and pastoralist communities and protect agricultural activities across vulnerable areas of Plateau State.

Security authorities have continued to urge farmers and herders to resolve disputes through established channels and report incidents promptly to security agencies to prevent escalation.
