Ogun Police Arrest Eight Suspected Criminals, Recover Military Camouflage and Weapons

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested eight suspected criminals at Kara Cattle Market following credible intelligence on their alleged movement from Maiduguri, Borno State.

According to a sources in the Command, the arrests were made on 19 June 2026 at about 2130hrs after a report was received from Garuba Ibrahim of 38B Yam Market, Isheri Olofin, a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF).

The complainant stated that his coordinator, Lawal Gafar, had received information that a group of suspected criminals who escaped from Maiduguri were sighted converging at the Kara Cattle Market area.

Acting on the intelligence, police operatives and local security volunteers apprehended the suspects, identified as Mallam Mustapha, 72; Mohammed Blama, 37; Isa Musa, 28; Ajjid Mohammed, 40; Umaru Buka, 28; Rawana Adamu, 29; Ibrahim Abubakar, 47; and Mohammed Abdullahi, 29.

Items recovered from them include one military camouflage cardigan, one dagger, one knife, and two passport photographs showing one of the suspects in camouflage attire.

The Command said detectives promptly visited the scene and conducted further searches within the area to trace possible accomplices.

It added that the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for further investigation.
